Time Cuts Stink

This is how messed up our school district is. Each year, the science classes are supposed to do a research paper on the topic of the student’s choice. This year, my biology class – actually, all the biology classes in the high school – had to cut those research papers down to argumentative essays on one topic: genetic engineering.

Why? Simple. We’d been signed up to have the media center computer lab for about a month when – just a week and a half before we were supposed to start our papers – we were informed that our six days in the computer lab, which our teachers considered barely enough time anyway, was being cut down to three days.

Have you ever tried to write a decent research paper when you have one hour a day for three days to work on it? It’s simply not possible. So now we have to do essays on genetic engineering instead.

Yeah for us.

About Emily

I'm Mrs. Kim's daughter, a sophomore in high school right now. I love to read and write. I enjoy working on computers and cars (did you know that an air bubble in your hydraulic brakes can ruin your braking completely? - until a mechanic bleeds it out, anyway). I also love dogs and horses.
