our School Board Rules on tattoos and more

Our school board just came to a realization last year that parents had to sign for a child under 18 to get a tattoo so they removed the “no tattoos allowed” rule, though only appropriate ones can be shown at school.  Too funny though that teachers and administrators can’t allow theirs to show.  No, I don’t have one and will never get one but I do think it goes to far to say if they can show one they do have.

Of course we still have rules about what color your child’s HAIR can be and how many holes they can have in their ears!  Emily got detention for having a small hole in her jeans in the 8th grade.  It was below her KNEE.  That’s right, they could wear shorts and skirts that only came to the knee but she got detention for a small rip below her knee.

Do I think we are going WAY too far in trying to control our kids?  YES!!!!  I made some bad decisions as a teenager but I am none the worse for them.  As a matter of fact, I believe those mistakes led me to make some big decisions in my life that made me a better, more responsible person today.

Tell me what you think….  🙂
