Risk: Not Just A Game

Hello!  It’s Friday again and time for Five-Minute Friday.  I’d love it if you joined me and everyone else at thegypsymama’s NEW AND IMPROVED site LisaJoBaker.com

The way it works is, LisaJo gives us a word and we write on that topic for a full five minutes and only five minutes.  There’s no editing and no spell check.  So this week’s prompt is RISK.

It’s funny but when I think of risk, I think of the game that I grew up playing and that my kids now love to play together.  You can learn a lot from that game.  When to be patient and when to make your move.  You can loose a lot or gain a lot.  There’s a lot of strategy in Risk.

Risk in real life is like that.  You have to take some chances or remain stagnent.  But which chances should you take?  What are you willing to risk?

Me?  I’m not really a very big risk taker.  I never won the game.  The chance that I would kill all of those “people” was too great for me.  Nnow that I’m grown and I have children, there are some risks that i have to take and some that I just am not willing to take.  Most of those risks I decide against are so that my kids are safe and they have a greater chance of growing up with their mother present…………

  1. You are the second Five Minute Friday participant that I read that mentioned the game… Oh the memories!! I’m not much of a risk taker either, but I have a competitive streak when it comes to board games! 🙂

    • I’ll have to see who else mentioned the game! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Julie Anne. It was great to hear from you.
