The weather is cooling off and that means it’s easier to get outside! I know we are all looking for inexpensive ideas to do with our families. Here’s an idea I want you to just consider. How about doing yard-work together? Now kids under 12 should NOT use mowers or weed whackers! But they sure can use a rake or broom.
It’s a great time of year to get outside and get our yards in shape. Doing yard work together is a fantastic way for the whole family to get involved in taking care of our homes. It also gives kids pride in their environment.
Want to paint your porch? Kids as young as ten can handle priming and sanding (by hand). You can give kids under 5 an old paint brush and a bucket of water and let them “paint” with water on a section you aren’t working on right away. Little kids are also great at washing things. A bucket of warm, soapy water and a cloth or scrub brush and they’re off having a great time. They can wash deck furniture, house siding, their pool, bikes, even your car! Just set them loose.
