30 Days to a Better Reader: Day 8

Yesterday I told you to play games with your kids.  I got to thinking about my kids’ favorite games and thought I would list some of them.  What I love about these games is that they are educational AND fun!

Apples to Apples – There are so many different versions of this game!  There’s even a travel version!  And you can buy MORE cards for your game if you actually get through your first set and can remember them all.  My teenage daughter has been to Apples To Apples tournaments!

Scrabble – It even comes in a fun Junior version.

Alphabet Squiggle – This game has multiple playing levels built into the game already so there’s no need to buy anything else.

Scavenger Hunt For Kids – Lots of reading and this game can basically be played alone if your kid loves scavenger hunts.  The things you have to find are funny too.

SNAP – This is a fast and exciting card game and I paid about $5.00 for it so you can’t really beat the price.

Mad Lib’s are fun games that teach kids the difference between nouns and verbs and all the rest.  You plug in words with the help of friends into a story and then read the story back out loud.  It’s silly!

What’s your favorite family game?
