I’ve been really enjoying this book called Between the Dark and the Daylight: Embracing the Contradictions of Life written by Joan Chittister. She’s a nun and brilliant in so many ways. This is not a book about being Catholic either. It’s about seeing the world and your life in a different light. I have found it incredibly calming and enlightening, so I decided to share some of my favorite quotes from this very book.
“We struggle to maintain a dead past in the name of peace and refuse the new life that running water brings to everything. we confuse ‘stagnant’ with ‘calm’ and call it holiness. We miss the power of the paradox that peace is not passivity and that living death is neither death nor life.”
